September Driver of the Month

“There can be no greater gift than that of giving one’s time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return.” Nelson Mandela

Once a Brooklyn chef who dreamed of cooler working conditions & a feeling of an unknown aspiration. Mr. Ronald Augustin in 2004 took the leap of faith and moved to Sunny Fort Lauderdale to embark on his new career as a Yellow Cab Driver.

Speaking 4 languages English, French, Creole and Spanish, Mr. Ronald quickly learned that he could be of help to many passengers and Yellow Cab staff with clients to our area who were seeking transportation but had trouble communicating. He had found his purpose! Ronald explains that he was given the gift of education when he moved from Haiti to New York. “It’s a sense of gratitude for all that I have been given and a willingness to do the same for someone else.”

In his 15 year career with Yellow Cab Ronald has taken on himself to help educate other drivers with customer service skills. “You need to continue to learn something new every day.”

He is also one of our driver’s trainers as all new drivers attend a two day class and then are educated on the road with a Yellow Cab driver trainer.

His giving back does not stop there as he has a strong interest in the community and is often quietly behind the scenes helping a neighborhood project and organizing his fellow drivers to get involved. From something as simple as an organizing a community soccer league to raising funds for the Bahamas hurricane victims. Mr. Augustin adds that he enjoys driving a Yellow Cab because he is exposed to new people and feels he is giving back.

Yellow Cab appreciates all that Mr. Ronald Augustin does and we are proud to have him be our driver of the month.
