Every Yellow Cab Driver has been trained and certified in the Passenger Assistance Safety & Sensitivity Program. The PASS Program, as it is known, is a comprehensive training course developed by the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA). This certification is provided to drivers that transport people with disabilities and special needs. There is testing on lift operation and proper wheelchair securement. Our Driver of the Month, Martino Thomas has been duly trained to offer his clients premier care. “It is very uplifting to know I can help give a voice to the voiceless and a ride to those who struggle or can’t walk.” “Quite a responsibility,”, Mr. Martino declares.
One of Mr. Thomas’ clients, who is vision impaired, recently dropped his disability check in the back seat of his taxi. As he was cleaning up for the day, he stumbled upon the document. Without hesitation, he returned the life saving money which secured a loyal rider for life!
Mr. Martino attributes the success of his 21 year marriage to Mary, his loving wife, to strong religious convictions. He volunteers whenever possible in the spirit of giving back.
